Who We Are
The Preclinical Services Core provides full-service in-vivo preclinical research on a fee-for-service basis. Housed within the Center for Animal Resources and Education at Cornell University, within the Research & Innovation Division, we have access to a large staff of laboratory animal medicine-trained veterinarians and veterinary technologists who operate in world-class AAALAC-accredited facilities.
Our Mission
Our mission is to drive basic research and discovery towards therapeutic advances in human and animal health. We facilitate harmonizing discovery and application to catalyze technological and economic development and promote academic-industry partnerships.
What Makes Us Unique
- We work with a broad range of species, including large animal models.
- We coordinate with the clinical trials team at the Cornell University Hospital for Animals to facilitate a smooth transition from preclinical to clinical testing.
- We utilize on-site diagnostic laboratories located in the Cornell Animal Health Diagnostic Center (including anatomic and clinical pathology services, comparative coagulation, endocrinology, and microbiology laboratories).
- We offer advanced rodent imaging capabilities.
